VOLUNTEER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
We accept a handful of volunteer interns per season who are ready to commit to at least three months of learning-by-doing at Wild Willow Farm and are ready to grow into budding new farmers and/or good food community advocates. This is an immersive program that provides free attendance to Wild Willow classes during the internship, mentorship with our farmers, and the opportunity to train as a tour guide and trip leader. You must apply at least 6 weeks prior to the first day of the internship session to be considered (Monday, April 6th is the application deadline for the summer 2020 session).
For the safety of our staff and customers, the farm is currently closed to the public, and all educational programming--including internships--is currently on hold until further notice. Check back here, or on our Facebook page, for updates on when we'll be able to resume.
2 to 3 days per week (min. 10 hrs/week Monday - Friday) including mandatory orientation Monday mornings for the first 4 weeks
Commitment to attending classes (some Wed evenings, all Saturdays when Farming 101 is in session)
Timely arrival and excellent communication skills
Willingness to work hard and contribute to the team
Ability to take initiative and assume responsibility
Drive to learn about growing food and being an ecological steward
Desire to deepen your connection with your food and the land
Once accepted, this program is free. Additionally, farm school and all classes during your volunteer internship are offered at no charge in exchange for your dedication and commitment to this program.
For questions about the volunteer internship, please contact our farm manager, Gregg Cady.
